So I know that you guys have seen my Mini Sessions that I am doing and I am sure that you are wondering what your cards would look like. Well here is an example of what yours could look like!

I had a hard decision to make yesterday. I wanted to give everyone a free session but my schedule does not allow that, so my husband and I went over all the entries and we came to Ashley Hammerbacher’s story and we just knew that she was our winner. I have been following her story on Facebook since I found out about her little man, Raef who has Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. I absolutely LOVE how they came up with his name… a friend said he liked the name Raef while looking through a baby name book and that was really the only name they could agree on and when she looked up the meaning of Raef it means ‘God Healed’ HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!?!? Little Raef has already had one open heart surgery when he was only 8 days old and will need 2 more. Ashley has a blog where you can read a lot more about Raef and their journey.

Fall is in the Air
Last night as I drove with the windows down I could feel it… you know what I am talking about, fall is JUST around the corner. I really do LOVE summer because I love going to the pool and how the kids can play outside BUT after this summer I am VERY ready for fall. Fall is probably my favorite season because of the cool weather with NO humidity (which my naturally curly hair, that I straighten most of the time, is thankful for) but also the GORGEOUS scenery and the lighting! The lighting is so perfect in the fall. My busiest time is in the fall, which is the story for most photographers. With all of that said… I have made the decision to do mini session this year. I have never been a fan of mini session due to the fact that I hate that they are so limiting, most mini sessions are on X date and pretty much if you can’t make it on that date then too bad you don’t get that special. I always got the feeling that at the end of the day you were taking the same pictures just of different people, which will happen when you have 10 sessions in a day at the same place. I wanted to give my clients a fall/winter special but did not really want to do the typical mini session so after brainstorming this is what I decided to do… I will be offering mini sessions this year BUT I will NOT be doing them on a certain date it is just a special package for anyone who books a session with Erica Mowell Photography during the dates of September 1, 2010 – November 14, 2010. About a month ago I was contacted by Angie about doing some Senior pictures for her son. I was so excited because I usually get girls interested in my Senior sessions, so it was nice to get a guy for a change! It was so HOT the evening that we did the session and luckily the Twilight Alive Concert was going on so Angie was able to go find us some water or I think that we all might have passed out! It was so nice meeting you guys and I hope that you enjoy your sneak peek!

In a Blink of an Eye
Two years ago today I was admitted into the hospital for my scheduled C-Section, 2 weeks early and I had been about to die for him to come for over a month (well really since I found out I was pregnant). Little did I know how much this little guy would change our lives.
At 8:14 am I saw this perfect little face pop over the sheet that they had put up. You weighed 8.47 lbs (I am SO glad that I did not have to wait 2 more weeks) and was 20 1/2 inches long.
Just a few of the little things I love about Parker…
- You are a BIG mama’s boy
- How you LOVES to snuggle and have since you were born
- How that your best-friends are Buzz & Woody
- How you are 100% PURE boy
- How you love all things cars BUT…
- Will only play with Pixar Cars
- When you drop something that you say ‘ahhhh beeee’ (Ohhhh Man)
- How you call a motorcycle a ‘BI-KUL’
- How you willingly let me come get you out of your bed in the middle of the night just for a snuggle
- That I can’t go to sleep without you snuggled up next to me! Even if it means that I have to get back up in the middle of the night to put you back in your bed because you have just about kick, punched and rolled all over me and Tony.
- I love when I snuggle up to you at night that you smell like your bath.
- Your crazy curly hair!
- How when I ask you “do you know I love you?” you say ‘YES’
- When you need help with something you say ‘nee help’
- I love that you made me and daddy break our rule of NO BABIES IN THE BED all because you loved to be snuggled up and would not go to sleep without being snuggled.
- When you get sleepy you get your ‘bink’ (blanket) and rub your eye until you almost fall asleep.
- How much that you love your ‘pa-c’ (pacifier) and ‘bink’
There are so many more but it would take days to list them all!
Sorry for the BlackBerry picture but my oldest is sick and I have not had time to do his 2 year old session. I promise I will get some good pictures up soon!

I got tired of looking at my old site so I decided to get a new one back in January. I had been so busy with either pictures or life that I had not finished it so I pulled several all-nighters and finally finished it. So here it is ericamowellphotography.com

A Growing Family | Kingsport Family Photographer
Last October I had the pleasure of “playing” with 3 of these kids (number 4 was still in mommy’s belly growing). Last week I was able to come back and play with all 4 of them. I swear that #3 and my youngest (who are only a few months apart) were made from the same mold! Here is a sneak peek from my play date with the gorgeous kiddos!
As I was editing these pictures when I came to these and I noticed all I was doing is smiling, how could you not smile at that face?!
This is the point that we headed over to the pool. It was so hot this day (90 something but felt like 100 something via local weather man) and I wore jeans (crazy I know) and while at the pool I was seriously thinking about jumping in with my clothes on!

As I was leaving we had played so much that one was down for the count!
